Brenda Gough from the Parksville Qualicum News has written a very nice article about our unveiling on Aug. 3rd (thank you Brenda). It was a pretty amazing weekend!
We are delighted to announce that the next exhibition of the Musical Ride Series will be on Aug. 3 & 4th at Arbutus Meadows Equestrian Centre in Nanoose Bay during the performances of the RCMP Musical Ride. This is the first time that the series will be shown in conjunction with its inspiration, the RCMP Musical Ride. To commemorate this event, I have created a new piece and RCMP Supt. Marty Chesser has kindly agreed to unveil it!! We are hoping to do this after the first performance (beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday).
Please join artists Sherry Mitchell, Sheila Warren and myself on Saturday, July 13th for our Open House at Signature Studio (located on the lower level at The Old School House in Qualicum Beach).
We have a whole new look to the gallery and lots of new work! See you there.

Rae-Anne and I are traveling to Sable later this summer . . . she will be working on her documentary, and I will be painting those magnificent horses!

Also on display will be some of my Sable Island paintings.
Hope to see you there!
I was interviewed a while ago at one of the Resident Artists’ at The Old School House in Qualicum Beach. T.O.S.H. is a gem within our community promoting the arts and making working studio space available to local artists. Here is a link to a short segment which aired recently on Shaw Cable:
(This was created by Rae-Anne LaPlante who I am fortunate enough to be traveling to Sable Island with later this summer)
I just received notification that I have been awarded Senior Status within the FCA (Federation of Canadian Artists)!!! This has been a personal and professional goal and I am honoured to now be an SFCA member.

I will be doing another “Art of the Horse” workshop on Salt Spring Island at Blennerhassett Equestrian Centre on Saturday, March 2nd. There has been interest to have ongoing one day workshops at regular intervals . . . that sounds great!
For more information or to register, please contact Kim Davidson at: email@example.com
January is the month that I set aside for “me” to paint and play and break away from what I normally do. I like to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself by doing or learning something new. As you can see, these pieces are definitely different. My challenge here was to work directly (spontaneously and without sketching beforehand) and to use lots of colour in a different manner that usual.
So these are the first of them, but by no means the last . . .
Here is a nice article regarding my upcoming workshop on Salt Spring Island at Blennerhasset Equestrian Centre on July 27 – 29th. We will start the weekend off with a presentation about my trip to Sable Island . . . all welcome!
